| Anmerkung | 1) Used as a proper noun (Islamic Studies) to designate a course title or a degree program at UZH. 2) Previously, this term was translated as "Arabic and Islamic studies." It is unclear whether this is correct. The most common term in the English-speaking world seems to be (with emphasis on "seems") "Islamic studies." This is also the term the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies uses in its introductory note (see link at "Source.") |
